Remember last March when I posted about my wanderlust for Mendocino County? I’m so excited to officially share that we’re going next month! We had originally planned to go somewhere more tropical, but ultimately this worked out better for us. I still have not been there and am over the moon when I think about the coastline and redwoods. I’ve been scouting out things to see and do, and so far my list looks like this:

  • Glass Beach
  • Bowling Ball Beach
  • B. Bryan Preserve
  • Russian Gulch State Park
  • Libby’s (heard about good burritos!)
  • Farmhouse Mercantile
  • Downtown Boonville
  • Mendocino Coast Botanical Gardens
  • Stornetta National Monument
  • Van Damme State Park
  • Point Cabrillo Light House

We will probably also visit a few of the other beaches and more nature-based areas. Some of these places will depend on the weather, but we’ll see how everything works out. If you have any other recommendations, I’d love to hear what you have to say!

Have you ever been to Mendocino County, California? Do you have any recommendations for us?

[…] not long when compared to some of our other trips, but I’m proud of how many places from our list of things we wanted to try we actually checked off. I’ve made this Guide to Mendocino county […]

My fiance and I went this past summer! We stayed at The Glass Beach B&B and it was so quaint and fun! We actually got engaged on Glass Beach so it definitely holds a special place in my heart! We had dinner at the Cliff House while we were there. The food was delicious and the view was amazing! I recommend checking it out. Hope you have the best of times!

Yes! I’ve been to the actual Town of Mendocino. Lots of cute little shops. The Mendocino Hotel has a great restaurant too! 🙂

I have never been to Mendocino, only heard of it in a country song lol. It looks absolutely amazing!!!!

Love Mendocino County! 🙂 There’s so much to do and see. There’s a great ice cream shop in Fort Bragg that has a candycap mushroom ice cream.

That sounds WONDERFUL. We have camped at Van Damme years ago, and I am pretty certain went to Glass Beach. Hope the weather co-operates … we definitely have the Redwoods on our “hit” list when we return!!! We will have to compare notes and get your recommendations after your trip!

That is good to hear! I’m really excited about glass beach even though I’ve heard it is not as good as it once was. I hope the weather stays nice as well, you know there are some redwoods by our house, right? 😉

Love Mendocino. I have been a few times. I love just driving around and seeing the redwoods. I also love the Santa Rosa area and Sonoma County and driving along HWY 1. I do not drink alcohol so I can not really tell you which wineries are the best to see but I have been to a few and enjoyed the tours.

I’m in major redwood lust mode right now, so driving around to see them sounds like a great idea, haha. We are taking the kids with us so I don’t know that we will visit many wineries unless there is a really beautiful one we can just explore on our own and pick up some souvenirs.
